Full-body support, made from the same materials as the rest of the bed.
Most body pillows are synthetic - polyester fill, polyester cover, the kind of product that traps heat and makes you wake up clammy. Shepherd's Dream's Wool Body Pillow is built differently: 64 oz of premium EcoWool batting, encased in organic cotton sateen, at a full 14" x 50". The wool fill is the same quality used in their mattress and topper range - sourced from regional farms in California and Oregon, untreated, naturally thermoregulating, and hypoallergenic.

For side sleepers, a body pillow solves a problem no regular pillow can: keeping the top knee from rolling forward and pulling the lower back out of alignment. Hugging the pillow also reduces the rotation of the shoulders and chest that leads to waking with stiffness in the upper body. For pregnant women, it does all of that while also supporting the growing abdomen and relieving pressure on the hips and sacrum - the combination that makes it
one of the most recommended sleep investments through the second and third trimesters.

Available with or without a washable organic cotton sateen cover. Made to order by hand in Northern California. Allow 2-3 weeks.

Benefits:

  • Keeps hips, knees, and spine aligned for side sleepers - reduces lower back and hip pressure overnight
  • Full-body support during pregnancy - abdomen, hips, and sacrum
  • EcoWool fill - naturally thermoregulating, no heat buildup, no clamminess
  • Naturally hypoallergenic and dust-mite resistant
  • Naturally flame resistant without chemical treatment
  • Organic cotton sateen encasement - smooth, breathable, chemical-free
  • Optional washable organic cotton sateen cover
  • 64 oz of fill - substantial enough to hold shape under body weight
  • Made to order by hand in Northern California

How to use:
Side sleeping: place the pillow vertically along the length of your body. Tuck the top of the pillow under your head or neck if needed, hug the middle with your arms, and place the lower section between your knees. This keeps the hips stacked, the spine long, and the shoulders from rolling forward.

Pregnancy: use the same position for overnight sleeping, or place horizontally behind the lower back for lumbar support when sitting up in bed. The pillow is long enough to support the abdomen from the front while cushioning the lower back from behind.

General bolster: fold or roll the pillow and place behind the back or beneath the knees for supported sitting or reading in bed.

Care:
The pillow insert: spot clean only with a damp cloth and mild wool-safe soap. Allow to air dry completely before use.
Air in fresh sunshine periodically - once a season is ideal - to refresh the wool, release moisture, and naturally deodorize.
Do not machine wash or tumble dry the insert.

The washable organic cotton sateen cover (included with the with-cover option): machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Lay flat or tumble dry on low.

Note: the fill will compress 25-35% in the first six months of regular use. Air in sunshine regularly to restore loft.
