Gua sha is one of the oldest tools in East Asian medicine - a smooth stone edge drawn across the skin to move blood and fluid, release fascial tension, and bring circulation to the surface. LENI's version is carved from natural citrine, which adds its own quality to the practice: citrine is a translucent yellow quartz traditionally associated with warmth, clarity, and emotional balance. No two pieces are identical - the natural variation of the stone means your tool is unique to you.
The tool is shaped for use on both the face and the body. On the face, the curved edges work along the jaw, cheekbones, and brow, supporting lymphatic drainage and the kind of depuffing that comes from consistent gentle stimulation. On the body, it addresses myofascial tension in the neck, shoulders, and anywhere connective tissue has become adhesive or restricted.
At 3 x 2 x 0.25 inches and 18 grams, it is light enough for daily use and substantial enough to feel like a real tool rather than a token one. A bottle of face or body oil applied first will allow it to glide cleanly.
1 tool included. Natural citrine stone. Each piece is unique.
Benefits:
- Fascia stimulation - the tool's edge works into connective tissue to release adhesions and improve tissue mobility
- Circulation support - stimulates blood flow to the surface, encouraging a refreshed, brighter complexion
- Lymphatic drainage - supports the movement of lymphatic fluid, helping to depuff and define facial contours
- Myofascial tension relief - eases tightness in the neck, jaw, shoulders, and other areas of chronic tension
- Natural citrine stone - traditionally associated with soothing, balancing, and emotional well-being; known as a stone of warmth and clarity
- Face and body use - curved edges suit the contours of the face; flat edges work on the body
How to Use:
Apply a face oil or body oil to clean skin before using - the tool should glide without drag.
Face: hold the tool nearly flat against the skin (at about a 15-degree angle) and use gentle, firm upward and outward strokes. Work from the center of the face outward along the jaw and cheekbones, from the brow upward toward the hairline, and from the center of the neck outward toward the ears. Use light, consistent pressure - gua sha works through repetition, not force.
Body: use longer strokes along the muscles, always moving toward the heart. The tool is particularly effective on the neck, shoulders, upper back, and thighs. Hold it at an angle that allows the edge to make contact with the tissue.
Use 3-5 minutes daily or as often as you like. For the face, some practitioners suggest morning use for depuffing, and evening use for relaxation and overnight regeneration.
