The skin is the body's largest organ. Dry brushing is one of the simplest things you can do for it.
LENI's Back Body Scrubber is a natural woven sisal brush on a long handle, designed to reach the places that most body tools cannot - the back, upper thighs, and the areas between the shoulder blades that accumulate tension and stagnation and rarely get direct attention. At 23 inches, it covers the full back in long, smooth strokes without contortion.
Dry brushing as a practice has roots in ancient Greek and Native American traditions and is based on a straightforward principle: physical stimulation of the skin's surface activates the blood vessels, nerve endings, and lymphatic vessels that sit just beneath it. The result is better circulation, improved lymphatic drainage, and a form of cellular wake-up that leaves the skin feeling brighter and the body feeling lighter. The skin's natural process of cellular renewal - exfoliation, detoxification, regeneration - is simply supported and accelerated.
Long handle, natural sisal weave, 23" x 4". Pair with a body oil afterward - pores are open and receptive after scrubbing.
Benefits:
- Reaches the back and upper thighs - areas that most body tools can't access without a long handle
- Stimulates blood flow - physical stimulation of blood vessels and nerve endings in the skin boosts circulation
- Supports lymphatic drainage - many lymphatic nodes and vessels lie just below the skin's surface; dry brushing activates them
- Cellular regeneration - supports the skin's natural detoxification and self-renewal processes
- Exfoliation - removes dead skin cells, leaving skin feeling lighter and brighter
- Energizing - particularly effective in the morning; can feel illuminating and invigorating
- Natural sisal - firm enough to stimulate, gentle enough for daily use on most skin types
How to Use:
Use on dry skin before bathing for best results. The brush can also be used in the shower with water.
Start at the feet. Brush the bottoms of the feet, between the toes, and up the legs in long, smooth strokes. Always brush toward the center of the body and upward toward the heart.
Repeat the same process with the arms - start at the palms of the hands, brush between the fingers, and move up the arm toward the heart.
On the stomach and underarms, brush in a gentle circular clockwise motion.
For the back: hold the scrubber at each end and use long vertical strokes up the back toward the heart. Work across the full surface.
Give extra attention to: the backs of the knees, inner thighs, elbows, and back of the neck - these areas often hold more stagnation.
Rinse and apply a body oil or moisturizer afterward. Pores are open and absorb more effectively immediately after scrubbing.
Travel tip: dry scrubbing after long flights or journeys is particularly effective for re-energizing the body and counteracting the stagnation of sitting.
Frequency: some practitioners suggest lightly daily before bathing; weekly or bi-weekly works well for most. Listen to your skin.
