A small wool roll that earns its place in three different situations.
At home, the Neck Roll sits at the base of your regular sleep pillow to fill the cervical curve - the gap between where your pillow ends and where your neck begins. That gap is where most sleep-related neck stiffness comes from. The roll keeps your cervical spine in its natural alignment whether you sleep on your back or your side, and it pairs particularly well with Shepherd's Dream's standard Organic Wool Pillow for people who want neck support without switching to a full contour pillow.

For travel, it is compact enough to fit in a carry-on and firm enough to wedge between your neck and a seat back on a plane or in a car - actually supporting the neck rather than just occupying space the way a U-shaped inflatable travel pillow does. It can also be placed behind the lower back as lumbar support during long journeys.

Made from the same premium EcoWool batting and organic cotton sateen used throughout the Shepherd's Dream range. No synthetic fill, no chemical treatments, no flame retardants. Available with or without a washable organic cotton sateen cover.

How to use
At home - neck support in bed: 
Place the roll horizontally at the base of your regular sleep pillow, so it sits at the curve between the bottom of your skull and the top of your shoulders. Your head rests on the pillow; your neck rests on the roll. Adjust the position until the roll fills the gap comfortably without pushing the head forward.

Travel - plane or car:
Wedge the roll between your neck and the seat back or headrest. Tilt the seat back slightly and let the roll take the weight of the head - this is more effective than a U-shaped travel pillow, which supports the sides of the neck rather than the back.

Travel or home - lumbar support:
Place horizontally at the curve of the lower back when sitting for long periods. The same principle as the Lumbar Pillow but in a more portable format.

Care
The neck roll insert: spot clean only with a damp cloth and mild wool-safe soap. Allow to air dry completely.
Air in fresh sunshine periodically to refresh the wool and release any accumulated moisture.
Do not machine wash or tumble dry the insert.

The washable organic cotton sateen cover (included with the with-cover option): machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Lay flat or tumble dry on low.
