Jasminum sambac, the Arabian jasmine of southern India, is something else entirely: more intensely floral, juicier, and with an animalic depth that unfolds slowly and lingers. It is the jasmine used in sacred devotional garlands near Madurai — the city known in Tamil as the nectar city — where flowers are harvested at 7pm at the peak of their aromatic oil content. The jasmine absolute at the heart of this mist was distilled in 2002, a rare and aged oil that carries years of development in its character.

Summer Solace founder Megan Bre Camp blends this extraordinary oil with French magnolia absolute, which adds a creamy, soft floral counterpoint, and red mandarin essential oil, which brings brightness and a gentle citrus lift that keeps the jasmine from becoming heavy. Organic American jojoba oil grounds the formula and helps the scent linger on the skin.
