Most conventional baby soaps rely on synthetic surfactants that strip the skin's natural oils and disrupt its barrier - the opposite of what delicate skin needs. Wild Mamas' Chamomile + Calendula Tallow Soap does the opposite: it cleanses without stripping, and nourishes as it cleans.

The base is wild bison tallow - rendered from Regenerative Organic Certified, grass-fed and finished bison. Tallow is uniquely suited to skin care because its fatty acid composition closely mirrors the skin's own lipids: it is approximately 50-55% oleic acid and contains the same conjugated linoleic acid, palmitic acid, and stearic acid profile that the skin uses to maintain its barrier and regulate moisture. This makes tallow deeply compatible with skin at a structural level - absorbing easily, supporting the skin's natural function rather than sitting on top of it.

Into this base Wild Mamas infuses organic chamomile and calendula blossoms - two of the gentlest and most effective botanicals for sensitive skin. Chamomile is calming and anti-inflammatory, soothing redness and reactive skin without irritation. Calendula is one of the most nourishing herbs available for skin: healing, softening, and deeply supportive of the skin's barrier. Together they make this bar ideal for newborns, eczema-prone skin, reactive skin, and anyone who needs a cleanse that leaves skin genuinely at ease.

Each bar is handcrafted in small batches and cured for six weeks - the time required for the saponification process to complete fully and for the bar to reach its optimal gentleness, hardness, and lather. Virtually scent-free. Natural variation in color and texture is normal; a light white layer (soda ash) may appear on the surface and will disappear with first use.

How to Use:

Wet skin and lather the bar gently between hands or directly onto the skin.

Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Pat dry.

Suitable for daily use on face and body. Safe for newborns from the first bath.

A light white coating (soda ash) may appear on the bar's surface - this is a normal part of the natural soap-making process and disappears with first use. It does not affect the soap's quality or performance.

Care:

Store in a cool, dry place between uses.

Allow the bar to dry fully between uses to extend its life - a soap dish with drainage works best.

Keep out of direct water flow when not in use.
